Tommy

tommy was one of the sweetest kids! he was a sly little fellow who was always up to something. he was also in the group with all boys (hunter, eric, evan, jack, leo...) that was a handful! however, this little boy LOVED to hug us. he was always crawling into our laps and holding our faces and looking deep into our eyes. tommy even attempted a few kisses every now and then AND whenever we would feel a little pinch on the bum, we would turn around to find this little face grinning up at you! tommy. love him

he was one of my pirates...he was practicing his mean face

paiger daiger

today brandy called me and invited me to come outside and play with the kiddos in the sprinklers. i snapped a few pictures (on my cell phone...not the best quality) of paige with her killer tan and dora sunglasses. she loved the photo shoot!

maggie

ohhhhh maggie...
where to start :)

this little girl was so cute. for some reason she reminded me of one of Jim Hensens "Muppets!" Since maggie was one of the younger students...she didn't know too much english. It took me by surprise, the very first day we taught class, when i asked maggie if she wanted a piece of paper. Since maggie was pretty short, the only thing you could see of her at the table were her little eyes peeking up at you...and when her little growly voice grumbled "i want a piece of paper" i couldn't help but giggle a little. She ALWAYS kept a straight face...it was funny when any of us tried to tickle her, she would just glare at us and walk away. By the end of the semester she seemed to warm up, but only a little bit! :)

hunter

meet HUNTER...
Hunter is the sweetest kid (i'll probably tell you that every kid is the sweetest kid...it's the truth!) he was one of the hardest working students we had. Every single day Hunter would come into class with some big story to tell me. and in his broken english he would try SO hard to explain what happened! usually the stories were about how leo got pushed, or jack stole his crayon, or tommy punched him, or eric "went to bafroom" he always had something to say! Of course, hunter was in the class with mostly boys, so he was definitely a trouble maker in class...

HOME

i am HOME and it feels soooooooooo good.
ferry ride to Hong Kong = 1.5 hours
flight from HK - Korea = 3.5 hours
Korea - L.A. = 11(ish) hours
L.A. - SLC = CANCELLED. yes, the very last flight of our trip home, after 4 months of living in China, was cancelled. after surviving security and customs, and the long line at the ticket desk...Delta hooked us up in hotels with free meals. holler. It was actually nice to sleep in a nice soft bed, and have a shower and an awesome bathroom to get ready in...the delay wasn't {too} bad.
FINALLY - june 29th, 6:15 AM....
L.A. - SLC (round 2) = 1 hour and 19 minutes.
now that i'm home, jet lag is {almost} gone, and i have a break from school and work, i'm going to try a little project. i know i didn't blog at all while i was away, so here's my way of catching up! my favorite thing about china was the 42 little ones that i interacted with 2.5+ hours a day, 5 days a week. they were amazing. and i want you to meet them. not in person of course...but, get this, i'm going to post 42 blogs...one for each child. serious. you ready? good. get excited.
